SLP – 3rd Party Cover by Alamo & National
Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is an insurance coverage that provides the renter with minimum liability limits (at no additional cost to the renter) equal to the minimum coverage amount required by applicable law where the vehicle is operated, as well as excess liability coverage. Together, these provide the renter or any additional authorized driver with third-party liability coverage up to a combined limit of $300,000.
This coverage applies to third-party claims for bodily injury, including death, and property damage resulting from accidents arising out of the use or operation of the vehicle in accordance with the car rental agreement, up to the stated coverage amount. This coverage does not include protection against claims by uninsured or underinsured drivers (UM/UIM) for bodily injury and property damage, except in states where such coverage is required by law.
Where required by law, the UM/UIM coverage limits are $300,000 per occurrence. This coverage is provided under an insurance policy issued by Zurich American Insurance Company.

In car rentals in Canada and the rest of the world, third-party insurance is included in the CDW insurance. (for more information about CDW)
In addition, in certain jurisdictions (e.g., South Africa), the coverage proposed to be included in such insurance may contain various limitations prescribed by local law (such as limitations on the account of coverage, the coverable events, and more). Therefore, we recommend that you separately purchase an appropriate insurance coverage to meet your needs or verify with the Car Supplier, at the time of picking up the car, which additional insurance coverages are offered by it for such purpose.
A prerequisite for the insurance coverage is that for any damage caused to the car during the rental period, the renter shall immediately notify both the local police and the car supplier, shall keep documents attesting thereto, and shall act according to their instructions.
